Teenager dies in bicycle accident

The teenager was riding his bike along Blacker Lane in the village of Netherton when it struck the kerb, causing him to fall. He was taken to Pinderfield Hospital in Wakefield by air ambulance, but died a short time later.

A 15-year-old boy from Wakefield has died after falling from his bike in West Yorkshire.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman appealed for witnesses to contact its roads policing unit.

The road was closed for several hours following the accident on Thursday.
